Central Valley Electric Education FoundationScholarships

College scholarships can by awarded to members of Central Valley Electric Cooperative and their dependents. Scholarship recipents receive $1,000 for the fall semester and $1,000 for the spring semester and recipients can receive financial assistance for up to eight semesters of undergraduate studies. Scholarships are subject to the following requirements:

Eligibility:

  • Available to active members receiving metered service from CVE and their immediate familys.
  • Account(s) must be in good standing and current (within 60 days) in the payment of all electric service with CVE.
  • Scholarships recpients must attend a recognized New Mexico institution of higher learning.
  • Applicants must maintain a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale and be considered a full-time (12 credit-hours) student by the Registrar.
  • Applicants must of good character as evidenced by at least three letters of recommendation from either a teacher, principal, counselor, etc.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a coherent degree plan and willingness to pursue a course of higher learning.
  • Economic need of the applicant will be given secondary consideration.

  • Applications must be received no later than APRIL 15th & you MUST submit a renewal form each year. Awards will be announced within 60 days of this date.

Current recipients must reapply for the scholarship every year using the Scholarship Renewal Form. A current offical transcript from the Registrar must accompany this request. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of funds available and the applicants eligibility.
