2025 CVE Lineman Camp

Date: Thursday, May 29

Location: Jack Case Community Room (1403 N 13th St, Artesia, NM)

Time: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (lunch will be provided)

If you are unsure what to do after school and like working outside, this is an opportunity for you. You will get to spend a day with CVE employees doing hands-on tasks that simulate what our linemen do on a daily basis. This is a great FREE trial for those who like hands-on jobs and being outside. You will experience different activities throughout the day to help you decide if this is a career you could see yourself pursuing. 

Activities Include: (all activities will be done on unenergized poles and equipment) 

  • Climbing
  • Opening and closing fuses
  • Repairing an insulator
  • Speakers
  • Staking Jobs
  • Top Hand Award and other giveaways
  • And more!

Requirements:

  • Must be 17-22 years of age
  • Must wear closed-toed shoes and jeans (without holes)
  • Must be able to work outside and handle the heat
